Dream interpretation – Dreams of your ex – Husband or Ex-Wife

If you’re having dreams of your ex, you’re not alone. It’s everyday stuff in my dream-interpretation world for a divorced woman to have a dream of her ex and tell me, “I keep having dreams of him. Why?! We haven’t spoken in years. He was so mean to me and the kids, but I keep having dreams of remarrying him. I mean, I’m willing to do anything the Lord wants me to, but he’s been remarried for years. Do you think God wants us to get back together; that maybe we were never supposed to have divorced?”

Most always, these women are fraught just thinking of the idea.

After years of having “ex” dreams and having no idea what they meant, the Lord spoke to me one night as I slept. “Whenever you dream of your ex-husband,” He said, “I’m talking to you about your ‘old man’.”

As a quick refresher: Most always, the people in your dreams are symbolic, not literal. They are symbolic for what they mean to you in real life.

So, in this case, your ex-husband is likely symbolic for your ‘old man’.

Paul wrote about our ‘old man’ in Ephesians 4:22-24, stating that we should take off our old man (meaning the kind of thoughts and actions we had before we gave our heart to Jesus), renew our minds, and put on the new man (thoughts and actions that are in obedience to the Scriptures) that He is creating in our hearts.

“Marrying” someone in a dream symbolizes coming into intimate agreement with what that person represents to you. Not with that specific person, but with what that person symbolizes to you in real life.

So, when you dream of your ex, the Lord is telling you in a funny way that you are acting and thinking like you did before you gave your heart to Him. He’s saying you have come into agreement with your old life again.

When you have this kind of dream, you can disregard the sudden panic attack when you awake, and simply ask the Lord if there are areas in life that you’ve recently reverted back to your ‘old ways’.

Look:

A dream featuring your ex-wife or ex- husband can suggest that you are facing some kind of difficulty or a tricky situation in some part of your waking life. You may be feeling uneasy or unhappy about something or you may be having relationship issues.

If you are in relationship with your ex-husband or ex-wife in the dream then it can imply that you are making the same mistakes or your old habits or ways have been repeated in a current relationship in some part of your waking life.
