Give first your Heart to God not your Money -Does God Need your Money?

Does God need your burnt offering

Give first your Heart to God not your Money

Does God Need your Money?

Many men of God focus on money as if it is the only thing to be offered to God before receiving blessings from God.  They preach: the bigger money offering to God, the bigger blessing from God.

Men of God, we are supposed to turn the heart of members into an object of sacrifice to God.

Please, humbly follow me well with the spirit of understanding.

In the book of 2 Samuel 24: 21- 25, David refused to sacrifice to the Lord burnt offerings that did not cost nothing.

Solomon offeringsIn 1 Kings 3: 1 – 15, Solomon offered a thousand burnt offerings on the altar and God was pleased…

My brethren, burning offering or burned sacrifices in the old covenant was a physical representation of a sacrificial and spiritual engagement with God covering the sins of people. The burned offerings, the blood of animals representing Jesus Christ the son of God of Heavens and Earth covering their sins. Today Yahweh cleans our sins through the precious Blood of Jesus Christ when we sincerely repent. So now, why are you using urge material offerings with the intention to redeem yourself?

Can’t you see it is a technique of  greedy men of God to enrich themselves while you are still fugitively waiting for the blessing you paid for?

No one can buy blessings from God. We need to seek God first and we shall receive whatever God has prepared for His children. God knows the needs of His children individually.

In the old covenant, the quality and the volume of your burned offering were to prove the main desire of your heart, where is your treasure. Those who were attached to material things could not freely and joyfully offer the best burned offerings to God. Solomon proved that material things were not the priority in his heart. That is why he asked for wisdom but God still additionally blessed him financially. The volume of his burned offering demonstrated to God how big was his heart’s devotion for God.

The biggest offering and the best offering mean your heart is devoted for God‘s Kingdom because your physical burned offering was proved being less important than your heart for God.

Let us give this example of Abraham who valued more the Giver of his son Isaac than Isaac himself. If God was not his first priority in his heart, Abraham would not have accepted to offer his only destined son. The best you give to God proves that it is not a priority in your heart, God is your priority.

What we need to understand here is that God does not need your money, your burned offering, He needs your heart. Do not be deceived by false doctrines of money, money is not the source of blessing, God is the Source.

Let us meditate on the following biblical verses which summarize that God needs your good heart, not your money.

1 Samuel 15:22

And Samuel said, “Has the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to listen than the fat of rams.

Hosea 6:6

Solomon offered a thousand burnt offeringsFor I desire steadfast love and not sacrifice, the knowledge of God rather than burnt offerings.

Proverbs 21:3

To do righteousness and justice is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice.

Isaiah 1:10- 12

10Hear the word of the LORD, you rulers of Sodom; listen to the instruction of our God, you people of Gomorrah!

11

“What is your multitude of sacrifices to Me?” says the LORD. “I am full from the burnt offerings of rams and the fat of well-fed cattle; I take no delight in the blood of bulls, of lambs and goats.

12

When you come to appear before Me, who has required this of you—this trampling of My courts?

PSALM 50:10,12 NLT

10 For all the animals of the forest are mine, and I own the cattle on a thousand hills.

12 If I were hungry, I would not tell you, for all the world is mine and everything in it.

Matthew 5:23-24

23Therefore if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you,

24

leave your gift there before the  altar. First go and be reconciled to your brother; then come and offer your gift.

I went to a church where a pastor was preaching on money as an important sacrifice to God in order to receive God‘s blessings. While he was busy preaching, the Lord was giving me at the same time this message:

Give first your heart to God not your money

Giving your body as a living sacrifice

God wants your dedication, your holiness, your desire to obey His Word, He wants your love for Him and for your neighbor, In addition, He wants you to support His people (servants of God, fatherless, widows, poor and homeless children) by doing so, you do it to Him.

Romans 12:1

1Therefore I urge you, brothers, on account of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God, which is your spiritual service of worship.

God needs your holy heart not your money. Give him your heart and then give your money, your offering to His people

Many of us we think that even though we are still willingly sinning, God will answer our prayers and bless us as long as we offer urge amount of money in the altar, that is a lie from the pit of Hell. The gospel of money must stop and may God expose those who focus on that kind of preaching in Jesus name. We can’t redeem sins with money except accepting Jesus Christ in our heart and living the Word of God in a daily basis.

There is more blessing in giving than receiving

I would like to say that giving is very important, what you give and how you give proves to know the source of your treasure and your heart main desire.

It is important to support the ministries of God as well as supporting the poor, widows, fatherless, homeless…but that does not redeem us if we do not take a decision to abandon sins and follow Yahweh in Truth and Spirit.

There is without any doubt a tremendous blessing coming to each and every one who lives a holy life and who has an attitude of giving. Such a person will never lack because he is an instrument of God to support the Kingdom of God.

Give what you have. It may be your money, your skill, your time, your prayers for others, your asset…

1 CORINTHIANS 9:13-14 NLT

“13 Don’t you realize that those who work in the temple get their meals from the offerings brought to the temple? And those who serve at the altar get a share of the sacrificial offerings.

14 In the same way, the Lord ordered that those who preach the Good News should be supported by those who benefit from it.”

So it is Scriptural to give to those who are spreading the Gospel. But it is wrong to think God is totally dependent on your offer for Him to bless you, no, He needs your repented and holy heart.

May God bless you precious people of God as you understand the message in Jesus Christ Name, Amen.
